What is a Commuter?
Commuters are considered all those who do not register for On-campus Housing but attend the Institute program.
Where do I park?
Parking is available for $8/day to be paid at the gate of the Main Parking Structure. This is where commuters should plan to park. Details are here.
Where do I park if I’m staying in On-campus housing?
RESIDENTIAL PARKING is also $8/day and is monitored every day 24 hours. You must pre-purchase your residential parking permit when registering online. Residential parking is allowed in the C lot of Benson parking lot and Dunne parking lot if available. Details are here.
Is there food available on campus?
Meals are included with on campus housing.
A pre-paid weekly meal plan is available on campus for commuters for Monday-Thursday lunch for $70.

Do all persons, students, parents/guardians, family members and guests need to show proof of vaccination to be on Santa Clara University Campus and attend the Institute?
Yes, persons who accompany any student or child on campus must follow all Institute Covid requirements, which includes proof of vaccination as agreed to on the registration form.
Guests who attend recitals and concerts will be asked to show proof of vaccination at the door.
Public health policies can change so please note there may be updates to our requirements. ASI reserves the right to change these policies at any moment to ensure the health and safety of our participants. The ASI Refund/Cancellation Policy is in effect regardless of how COVID policies may change.
Does Santa Clara University and the Institute require those on campus to wear masks?
Yes.
Can I rent an instrument during the Institute?
If you wish to rent a cello or other instrument, you may contact Kamimoto Strings (408) 298-8168. Kamimoto will process the rental and bring the instrument to the Institute. Instruments can be picked up in the ASI office during registration.
Will there be an instrument store on campus during the Institute?
Kamimoto Strings will be on campus with some supplies should you need to purchase any during the Institute. They can also do bow rehairing, restringing, and minor repairs. They will be located upstairs in O’Connor Hall.
When are the concerts and recitals?
Honors Recitals: Mon-Wed at 11:00am
Chamber music concert: Thursday at 11:00am
Final concert: Thursday at 5:30pm. Concert attire is white top, black bottoms.
Can anyone attend?
Guests who are not attending the Institute are welcome but will be asked to show proof of vaccination at the door.
